Franchise actually always had this puzzle element to it when it comes to weapon mechanics and moment to moment tactics, but they had to be reinvented for TLH, because majority of tactics in the originals come from movement itself, and TLH is a game that only has roomscale movement, but no artificial movement. TLH is intentionally designed to play like a puzzler, rather than like a "point and shoot to win". Here you can really begin to exercise your creativity in surmounting the seemingly impossible. And then after the campaign and earning all the crazy upgrades and abilities, you can go mess around in the arena which offers endless variety and various game modes within itself. And then you get really good, and the core gameplay loop becomes really fun. In the sense that much of its difficulty will seem impossible at first, until you figure out a few tricks, then it becomes easy, then you bump up the difficulty and repeat. Figuring out which weapons to combine and how for which situations and which enemies, is designed to feel like a puzzle sort of gameplay. We iterated for over a year to find the way to make the most out of wave shooter genre. The Last Hope is a wave shooter however, but this doesn't mean it's gameplay is merely stand in place, point and shoot. are at the higher visual quality compared to BFE, due to game being much newer from Serious Sam 3 BFE. Those new environments, assets, boss encounters. It features some completely new environments and a few completely new enemies and even weapons, never before seen in the franchise (even tho it reuses some assets and enemies from our previous games BFE and Talos, but this only makes sense due it being the same franchise). The Last Hope is made from grounds up for VR.
